What Mietcheck is

Mietcheck is a free service. It compares your rent with the official federal figures for your canton and collects reviews of individual buildings.

You can use the service without an account. You only need an account in order to write reviews.

Not legal advice

The comparison tells you what is usual in your canton. It does not tell you whether your rent is lawful, and it is no substitute for advice.

Whether a rent is abusive is decided by the conciliation authority, not by this website.

Rules for reviews

If you write a review, these rules apply:

  • Only write about a flat you have lived in yourself.
  • Do not name any people. Write "the management" instead of a name.
  • Write what actually happened, not what you suspect about someone.
  • No insults, no advertising, and nothing that would point to individual neighbours.

Checking and removal

Every review is checked by hand before it appears in public. We do not publish a review that breaks the rules.

We may take down a review that has already been published if it turns out to be untrue or to break the rules. If you think a review is untrue, report it with the button next to it or write to hi@zzd.ch.

You keep the rights to what you write. You allow us to show your review on this website.

Availability and liability

We do our best to keep the site running and the figures right, but we do not promise it. For damage arising from the use of this free website we are liable only in cases of intent or gross negligence.

Applicable law

Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is Aarau, unless another place of jurisdiction is mandatory.
